Buying land or a new home? Don’t forget the title search!

Finding the right home or investment property isn’t a decision that should ever be rushed, and the average buyer looks at eight or more properties before making an offer. Once the offer’s accepted, the next step is hiring the right team of professionals to help you prepare for closing. You’ll typically work with a realtor, a lender, and a home inspector, as well as other contractors and professionals if the property requires any repairs. First National Title (FNT) is proud to be Arkansas’ largest independent title and closing company, and our team of nearly 200 customer-focused professionals is here to ensure that you enjoy a smooth, hassle-free closing!

We have 26 convenient locations to serve you throughout The Natural State, and you’ll always be able to work with an agent in or near your community. Contact us as soon as your property is under contract, and we’ll make every effort to ensure that your closing stays on schedule with no unexpected delays! We own and maintain our own title plants right here in Arkansas, and we’ll leave no stone unturned to ensure that the title is unencumbered and the seller is in a clear position to sell the property. The most common type of title encumbrances you’re likely to encounter are liens due to outstanding debts or legal judgments. Before the property can change ownership, those debts must be paid or discharged. And if a previous owner died without leaving a will, there could even be previously unknown heirs with a legitimate property claim!

Once our title agents complete the title search and the sale is fully consummated through the closing process, our final step is to issue you an owner’s title insurance policy to protect your investment. We’re proud to offer insurance products through top underwriters, including First American Title Insurance Company, Chicago Title Insurance Company, Commonwealth Land and Title Insurance Company, Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, and Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, and your policy will be effective for as long as you own the home. You’ll pay a one-time premium at closing, and your policy protects you in the unlikely event of a future title dispute!
